Morgan continues down into cinematographic hell with his third short.
After The Man in the Lower-left Hand Corner of the Photograph
and The Cat with Hands, both screened previously at our
Festival, the British animator remains faithful to his particular style
in this story of love and loneliness starring separated Siamese twins.
Needing no other characters, the movie portrays the terrifying, blood-curdling
and extremely disturbing tale of the relationship between two beings who
were born together and subsequently separated by medicine in an attempt
to improve their lives. But a separation of this calibre can’t be
made without taking toll of some kind. Elegant in its horror and tremendously
carnal, Robert Morgan once again demonstrates with this work in which
only the eyes talk, that he’s one of current European cinema’s
most interesting animators. |
